The Sandman Cometh

Mommy Dear, I cannot sleep
The Night Is Dark And Scary
I Do Not Wish To Count The Sheep
It Makes Me Tired And Weary

I'd like to Speak With Mother Goose
Today, Chicken Little Came A'Calling
There Was A Knot On Her Caboose
She Said The Sky Is Falling

Mommy ... Tell Me
What Keeps The Stars Up In The Sky
Does The Moon Hang By A Thread
Why Is The Catcher In The Rye
... And ...
Do Pigs Eat Gingerbread

Quiet Your Fears, You Silly Child
Fret Not Your Little Head
The World Is At Its' Safest
When All Gods' Children Are In Bed

For Beneath The Blanket Of The Night
There Lies A Sea Of Sand
And On This Sea There Sails A Ship
A Ship Called 'Sleepy Land'

This Ship, It Sails The 'Sandy Sea'
It Drifts From Dune To Dune
And You May Sail It If You Wish
For The Sandman Cometh Soon

A Horse He Rides, Named 'Shalamar'
Who Soars Across The Sky
Some Think It Is A Shooting Star
But Neither You Nor I

Listen For The Clippety-Clop
As That Grand Horse Gallops Near
Then Bravely Whisper Out Its' Name
And The Sandman Will Appear

His Steed Will Swiftly Carry You
Above The sea Of Sand
And Set You Safely Down Onto
The Ship Called 'Sleepy land'

This Ship, It Sails The Sandy Sea
It Drifts From Dune To Dune
You May Sail It If You Wish
For The Sandman Cometh Soon

Wondrous Sights You will See
Once You Close Your Eyes
And Safely Sail The 'Sandy Sea'
For The Sandman Cometh ...
... He Rides ....

THE END
