What can I say, Grandpa Freud? Once again you have exposed another of my devilish ploys to infiltrate my sister Gail's peaceful slumbers and play an infantile trick on her. I salute your insight. But must you encourage her to whack me with a fishing pole? Heaven knows she has beaten me up enough times as we were growing up together. Must she continue to do so even in her dreams?
Another thing that bothers me about Gail's dream is where she mentions our brother Ken fetching pain killer from his freezer to administer to her. Everybody knows, and she well remembers, he keeps the stuff in quart sized canning jars, stashed inconspicuously behind the hot water heater in the basement. I think perhaps this dream is merely nothing more than a desert mirage borne from her going to bed with a dry mouth. I suggest, should another dream of this type awaken her in the future, that she open the fridge and pop the top on a cold heineken. This should put the matter to rest. Coors!
